Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. To see rates, just answer six questions: gender, date of birth, how you'd describe your health, tobacco use, the coverage amount you want, and how long you want the term. No personal information is needed for the quote tool to return carrier rates.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
They are the rates carriers have quoted for the health class you selected. The actual premium is set by the carrier after reviewing your application and medical information, which may result in a different class. Nothing on this site is a binding offer or price guarantee.
What happens when I click Apply?
Selecting Apply takes you into a secure application that's already filled in with the answers you gave here. The application runs on the carriers' platform and is processed by Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California insurance agency (License 0B75129). You can pause and resume at any time, and nothing is final until a carrier issues and you accept a policy.
Will I need a medical exam?
That depends on the carrier, the amount you are requesting, and your health answers. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting paths that skip the exam for applicants who meet their guidelines. The details are in each quote—it will say whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required.
Is a longer term better?
A term should be chosen to cover the years when your family would struggle most if your income were lost—while the mortgage is being paid, while children are at home, while a business is young. Longer terms cost more each month but lock in your rate for more years. The tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 year options side by side.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool does not collect your contact information. We do not sell or share visitor data, and our measurement system does not use cookies. See the privacy policy for a complete explanation of what is collected and who has access to it.
